Dear Parents,
You will have heard and seen on various media outlets that Strep A (including Scarlet Fever) is on the rise. We have 1 case reported in school (P.3). With that in mind, I would urge you to do two things.
Firstly, read the press release issued by PHA (link below) to ensure that you are up to date with all current information.
Secondly, Scarlet Fever is highly contagious, so if you suspect that your child may have Scarlet Fever, do not send them to school. Contact your GP who will likely prescribe an antibiotic. Your child should only return to school 24 hours after commencing their antibiotic treatment.
